Like many things, great ideas and opportunities come about by chance. That is certainly the case for Theoc 4×4 founders Dan Williams and Graham Daly.
The pair first met while working at the local car dealership in their hometown of Tewkesbury (Theocsbury). They were both united in their passion for motocross and that quickly escalated into cars. Their first project, as are many, started with converting a Suzuki Vitara into an off-roader, learning the hard way of what works and what should be left alone!
Shortly after, they started modifying and building their own components to compete their Land Rover Defender 90 in winch challenge events before tackling the Welsh Xtreme. The word quickly spread and people liked what they had done to their Defender, so the pair decided to set up Theoc 4×4. Since starting the company in 2015 they have progressed from modifying Defenders to full on Ultra4 builds.
Custom Roll Cage
All our cages are built using Motorsport Grade CDS Tubing and conform to MSA Ultra4 specifications. Since construction of our first competition roll cage in 2013 everyone has passed rigerous scuritineering at events in the UK and across Europe. Whether you are looking to build a full space frame Ultra 4 racer or an internal roll cage for a drift car – Theoc 4×4 has you covered.
Axles & Suspension
Building a wide variety of trucks over the years has given us a wealth of knowledge when it comes to setting up axles and suspension. With the axles we can upgrade the existing stock ones on your daily driver or fully build a pair of custom axles. We use Ashcroft Engineering; RCV; ARB and ATOM parts in our axles builds depending on your budget and how hard you want to push things. When it comes to suspension fitting and set up we work with King Suspension; Fox and Terrafirma Racing. We do not just focus on racing. We can set up your tow vehicle, fit replacement shocks and springs or upgrade to an air bag system. Paired with our fabrication section we are able to make custom mounts in house to get your set up spot on.
The ability to fabricate most of our parts in house is essential at Theoc 4×4. Being able to fabricate the smallest of parts from cable tie tabs and coolant T pieces to bespoke brackets and custom radiator shrouds. In this job no two builds are ever the same. Having the skills and right equipment enables us to quickly work around situations that arise instead of out sourcing those time consuming elements. Our CNC plasma cutter; CNC brake press; NC tube bender paired with our collection of mills and lathes give Theoc 4×4 the capabilities to create whatever you are looking for, or, something completely radical. If we do not push the boundaries in terms of creating new components or trying out ideas, we are not evolving. That mind set created Theoc 4×4 in the first place and we will never change.
